Every Thursday, students in grades 1 - 5 are dismissed from school at 2:30.
The playground closes at 3:00 every Thursday.
Please pick up your child before 3:00.

Chocolate Sale Money Due Monday, October 24
All chocolate sale money is due to the office by Monday, October 24. Thank you for your efforts to support teaching and learning at Edison!
Parent Workshop - Tuesday, October 25
All parents are invited to attend a workshop on Understanding the Common Core Standards. Parents will receive information about the standards and a resource specific to your child's grade level. The workshop will take place in the auditorium from 9:15 - 10:15.
Drop Everything and Read - October 28
Our first school-wide Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) event will take place on Friday, October 28 from 9:00 to 9:15 (11:50 to 12:05 for PM kindergarten). All parents are invited to read with their child in the classroom. Come join us and celebrate the joy of reading!
Costume Parade- Monday, October 31
Edison's annual Costume Parade will take place on Monday, October 31 at 3:30. Students may bring their costumes in a bag and change into the costume after school. Knives, guns or weapons of any kind will be permitted. Students who march in the parade will receive a treat!
ELAC Meeting - October 31
Edison's next ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) meeting will take place on Monday, October 31 from 9:15 to 10:15 in room 10. .
Parent Conferences - November 1 - 4, 7 & 8
Parent conferences will take place November 1 - 4, 7 & 8. This is a time for you to meet with your child's teacher to receive information on your child's academic and social progress. We appreciate your support. Conference days will be minimum days. Students in grades 1 - 5 will be dismissed at 2:00. The playground will close at 2:30. Please make sure you pick up your child on time.
School Site Council - November 7
Edison's next School Site Council meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 7 at 3:30 in room 10.
No School - Friday, November 11
In honor of Veteran's Day, there will be no school on Friday, November 11.
Thanksgiving Break - November 21 to November 25
There will be no school November 21 to November 25. We wish your family a very happy Thanksgiving!
Parent Workshop - Tuesday, December 13
All parents are invited to attend a workshop on Tuesday, December 13. The topic of the workshop is: Understanding the Testing Process. Parents will gain knowledge on state testing (SBAC) in grades 3, 4 and 5.
Winter Break - December 14 to January 6
There will be no school Wednesday, December 14 to Friday, January 6. School will resume on Monday, January 9. Happy holidays and happy New Year to you and the ones you love!
Special Notice to Parents and Guardians
Parent and visitor parking is available on Daisy Ave. and 7th Street. Parking in the Daisy and Maine lots is for school and District staff only. There is no student drop off or pick allowed in the Maine parking lot. The Maine parking lot gate must be kept clear to allow for emergency vehicle access to the school. Vehicles blocking the gate or illegally parked on 7th Street may be cited or towed.
Due to ongoing safety and storage concerns, Edison students may not bring scooters to school. We ask parents to not allow their child to bring a scooter to school. Bike parking is available at the end of the Maine parking lot. Per state law, students riding bikes must wear a helmet.
